Getting To Know Roundtable: Casey Trimm Employee Spotlight

This week, we sat down with Roundtable’s Casey Trimm to talk about her role, learning & development (L&D), and industry trends she finds interesting.

What does your title mean? What do you do for Roundtable?

As the digital copywriter at Roundtable, I work within the marketing team to produce written content for our resource center about the latest L&D trends and innovative learning technologies. For every article, case study, and public relations piece, I get to pick our experts’ brains and convey their expertise to our readers.

What is a trend in L&D that’s exciting to you?

A trend in L&D that’s exciting to me is the use of haptic gloves for virtual reality (VR) training. It’s fascinating to see how far this technology has come and how it continues to advance every day, making VR training even more realistic and immersive than it already is.

What would you say is the most important part of building a training program?

To me, the most important part of building a training program is the learning content itself. No one wants to sit through an unengaging learning activity with content that isn’t relevant to them. I think knowing your audience and their needs is key to building training that’s engaging and applicable to an employee’s role.

Finish the sentence. Learning is essential to an organization because…

… we’re all lifelong learners and by improving our own skills, we help our organization grow.

What is something you have done in this role that you are proud of?

I’m proud of helping our team’s exceptional work get recognized by the Brandon Hall Group and Chief Learning Officer awards. Our team is so passionate about the work they complete, so to be able to get that work recognized for them is really rewarding.

What are some interesting facts about you?

-I studied abroad during my junior year of college in Shanghai, China, and I can speak a bit of Mandarin.

-It may be an unpopular opinion, but winter is my favorite season! It has the best holidays, weather, and movies.
