Getting to Know Roundtable: Employee Spotlight

This week, we sat down with Roundtable’s Aubrey Barto to talk about her role, learning & development (L&D), and industry trends she finds interesting.
What does your title mean? What do you do for Roundtable?
My title is the Inbound Marketing Strategist, which means that I oversee the marketing and communications for Roundtable Learning. I manage the marketing team as they work on everything marketing-related, from our website, public relations, social media, and anything else.
What is a trend in L&D that’s exciting to you?
I love to see how organizations are embracing the importance of employee development. I believe that people are always learning and any good organization harnesses that natural drive and curiosity to support their employees long-term.
What would you say is the most important part of building a training program?
I believe that having engaging learning content is key. Whether it’s a new take on sharing information, hands-on practice, or having the opportunity to learn with others. We have so much technology and knowledge to create truly engaging content for organizations.

What is something you have done in this role that you are proud of?
We’ve really invested in updating our website and online resource center to be the go-to knowledge base for corporate training. Working with my team and the team of experts at Roundtable Learning has been not only fun, but really fascinating.
What are some interesting facts about you?
- I love Sugar Gliders and have two named Lulu and Jackhammer.
- I have my BA from The University of Akron in News Production and my MBA from Ashland University.
- I worked as a marketer in the commercial roofing industry for a few years and can tell you more than you want to know about commercial roofs.
